How Have You Never Seen That?!

Have you ever had someone talk about a movie, and although you've heard many people talk about it, you've actually never seen it yourself, and you aren't sure if you should tell them you've never seen it?  It's generally because you know their reaction is going to be one of shock as they utter the words, "How have you never seen that movie?"  Whether it's the epitome of a genre, a movie that rocked an industry, one that won numerous awards, one that had such an intense impact on our culture or society or represented the entire mindset of an era, you just haven't gotten around to watching said film.  Well, I think it's time I finally did something about it.

For each week of an entire year I'm going to watch a movie that I've never seen and I'll post about it.  There will be two parts to this.

My thoughts before watching it: Why I chose it, what I've heard about it and any other observations I've made pertaining to the film.

My thoughts after watching it: Whether I thought it was worth the hype about it, what kind of impact it had on me and if I thought it was a good film.

The blog is more to keep me accountable to actually watching the movies and make sure I am really paying attention.  And who knows?  Maybe I’ll encourage others to visit movies they've never seen before.  This ought to be an interesting journey in film.

And if it wasn't obvious enough, if you haven't seen any of these movies, there will be spoilers because I will be talking about the plot and specific scenes in the movie, so go watch it first if you don't want it spoiled for you.
